Shrimps

6 months - 2.5 years | 4:1 ratio

Swimmers learn through interactive play with parent, teacher, and other swimmers. Parents will also learn how reinforce swimmer development and about water safety.

Preschoolers

Reusable Cloth Swim Diapers* are required for all swimmers under 3 years, and any preschool swimmers who are not yet potty-trained.

Goggles are recommended for Barnacles, Seahorses, and Angelfish, and are required for Otters. Each week, at least one skill will be performed without goggles.

Guppies

2-5.6 years 4:1 ratio

For those who are ready to swim without a parent, and have fun while learning the foundations of swimming.

Guppies establish water acclimation through floating while learning to be safe in and around water. Swimmers spend time exploring the pool while developing water confidence.

Barnacles

2-5.6 years 4:1 ratio

Introduction to fundamental swimming skills for preschoolers. Barnacles must be able to participate in class without parent assistance.

Barnacles learn to move through the water using their legs while blowing bubbles, as well as swimming to the wall and climbing out.

Seahorses

2-5.6 years 4:1 ratio

For swimmers who have completed Barnacles level skills and are ready to swim distances greater than 10 feet.

Water confidence is developed by learning to use noodles and other equipment. Swimmers increase endurance to swim 20 feet on front with face in water and “reaching” arms, and kicking on back.

Class Goals:

  • Big arms with kicking on front
  • Back glides and kicking on back
  • Jumps into water with assistance and goes under water
  • Assisted safety roll

Angelfish

2-5.6 years 4:1 ratio

For swimmers who have completed Seahorse level skills. Swimmers must be able to swim on their front for 20 feet without assistance, float, and kick independently on their back.

Otters

2-5.6 years 4:1 ratio

Swimmers learn side-breathing, backstroke, and practice drills with and without equipment.

Side breathing with freestyle arms and a nice easy backstroke with big arms are the focus in this level. 

Class Goals:

  • Freestlye swim with side breath
  • Backstroke swim
  • Comfort using kickboard
  • Tread water for 15 seconds

School Age

Goggles are recommended for Sea Turtles and Flounders. Fins and goggles are required for levels Triggerfish and higher. Swim caps are recommended for those with longer hair.  

Each week, at least one skill will be performed without goggles. Swimmers may be evaluated for SwimFIT Trials after Manta Rays and upon recommendation from their instructor and a Swim Program Supervisor.

Sea Turtles

5.6-12 years 4:1 ratio

For beginners who have never taken swim lessons before. Ideal swim level for students who have had little to no water experience.

Focus is on water adjustment and water confidence. Basic swim and safety skills are introduced.

  • Big arms with kicking (front)
  • Big arms with kicking (back)
  • Jumps into water and floats on back, no assistance

Flounders

5.6-12 years 4:1 ratio

For the eager student, ready to jump in and learn proper form for freestyle and backstroke. Elementary backstroke is introduced, along with diving.

Triggerfish

5.6-12 years 4:1 ratio

Triggerfish is the next step for swimmers who are ready to learn more technique. Breastroke kick is introduced and swimmers improve technique in Freestyle and Backstroke.

Advanced beginner swimmers will refine backstroke with body roll and freestyle with bi-lateral rotary breathing, as well as learning Breaststroke kick. Fins are introduced for leg strength, endurance, and improved ankle flexibility.

  • Freestyle with bi-lateral breathing
  • Breaststroke kick
  • Underwater glides

Sea Lions

5.6-12 years 4:1 ratio

Swimmers must be able to swim freestyle 60 feet with bi-lateral rotary breathing, 60 feet backstroke with body roll, and have flexed feet with Breaststroke kick.

Swimmers increase distance for Freestyle and Backstroke, learn Breaststroke, and Dolphin kick. Diving, open turns, treading, and circle swimming continue to improve.

Manta Rays

5.6-12 years 4:1 ratio

Swimmers must have completed all the mastery skills to graduate from Sea Lions. Swimmers must be able to swim Freestyle, Backstroke, Breaststroke, and Dolphin kick with kickboard. All skills must be completed without fins.

Introduction to lap and competitive swimming. Butterfly is introduced while students continue refining freestyle, backstroke and breaststroke, and students learn to flip in the water. SwimFIT readiness upon instructor recommendation.

  • Butterfly 75 feet
  • Racing dives from the side
  • Flips in the water

Dolphins

5.6-12 years 4:1 ratio

Swimmers must have completed all the mastery skills to graduate from Manta Rays. Swimmers must be able to complete 150 feet each of Freestyle and Backstroke, and 75 feet Breaststroke and butterfly. Skills must be achieved without fins.

Drills for each stroke are used to build endurance. Swimmers focus on refining the four competitive strokes, and correct turns for all strokes. SwimFIT readiness upon instructor recommendation.

  • Butterfly with underwater breakout and turns

Reef Sharks

5.6-12 years 4:1 ratio

Swimmers must have completed all the mastery skills to graduate from Dolphins. Students must be able to swim 150 feet each of freestyle, backstroke, breaststroke, and butterfly.

$40 annual Registration Fee

*Tuition will be adjusted for 5 lesson months and prorated for Holiday closures. Billing is on the 20th day of the month. Billed monthly enrollments will be charged
at the time of registration to the card on file.
