To keep it safe and fun
for everyone…
Our “Rules to Live By” For Parents and
Children at Atlanta Swim Academy
Rules are designed to keep people
safe and to allow maximum enjoyable participation in our swim programs.
If you have any questions about these rules – or don’t understand
the reasoning behind any of them, please call us at 770-973-3120. We
do expect you to abide by them.
1. No food
or drinks are allowed in the pool area or locker rooms. This
is a Cobb county regulation.
2. Please
do not feed your child a minimum of 1 hour before their swim lesson.
Swim lessons are a physical activity and eating before exercising is
never recommended.
3. If your
child is sick, please do not bring them to swim lessons. A
make-up class will be offered with a Doctors note only, on a scheduled
basis. Make-ups must be scheduled within 30 days of missed class. There
are NO refunds or credits given for ANY reason.
4. We have
a 2 student minimum to run a class. Management reserves the
right to cancel a class if only one child is registered. In the event
you are the only student in a class, we will contact you about other
class options.
5. Parents
and adults are responsible for the supervision and safety of minor children
and their guests.
6. Parents
are responsible for getting their children to their classes and instructor.
We post daily class roles in the swim hallway showing what
pool and which instructor is teaching your class.
7. Parents
are not allowed to interrupt swim classes. If you would like
to talk to an instructor, please leave your name and number at the counter,
or get one of their business cards and contact them via email. This
is necessary to keep all swim classes on schedule.
8. If your
child is not potty trained, he/she must wear a swim diaper.
9. We must
close the pool immediately in the event of a fecal contamination accident.
Length of closure depends on severity of the contamination,
but is typically a 6 hour minimum and a 24-hour maximum. Please escort
your young child to the bathroom just prior to his or her swim lessons
and please help them understand the importance of control. A $300 charge
will be applied to any family whose child closes a pool due to bodily
waste accidents.
10. No moms in the boy’s locker room, no dads in the girl’s
locker room. There is a Family Changing Room and single uni-sex
bathrooms located in pool 1.
11. No running,
rough-housing, or horseplay anywhere in the building – ever.
12. We have
zero tolerance for aggressive behavioral problems during swim lessons.
Aggressive behavior towards other swimmers will result in immediate
removal from the pool and from that lesson. Continual behavioral problems
will result in removal from the swim program.
13. We must
shut down the pool during thunderstorm activity. Our rule is:
If we hear and see it, we must stop until clear. Our pool is triple
grounded for extra safety, but we must still ere on the side of caution.
We cannot predict the weather, so your cooperation is expected and greatly
appreciated.
14. In the
case of inclement weather, we follow Cobb County School closings. We
will have a message on our phone system regarding the canceled classes.
15. It is
our expectation that you will report any unsafe conditions or situations
in our facility to us immediately. We are a safe, efficient
facility where children enjoy learning to swim. Please help us maintain
the highest level of excellence by following our rules. THANK YOU!
