We are committed to offering a swim experience to students with special needs. We are not therapists, nor are we specially trained to work with children with special needs. Our swim program has an inclusive philosophy, where children with special needs participate in our regular program to the best of their ability. Considerations are made for each child based on development and skill achievement. There are times when a private one - on - one class is better suited for the swimmer. At such times, we will work with you to find a day and time with availability for your lesson
We provide back floats, noodles, kickboards, and pool toys for all students during their lesson. Swimmers in Otters, Triggerfish, Sea Lions, Manta Rays, Dolphins and Reef Sharks will need their own swim training fins. Diving fins or recreational fins are not recommended. Stop in our store to have your swimmer fitted for their fins. Manta Rays, Dolphins and Reef Sharks may also purchase pull buoys. Please check with your instructor for needed equipment.
All classes begin and end promptly at their designated time. We ask that parents and students not interrupt instructors while they are teaching; however, you may leave them a message at the swim counter. Additionally, a Swim Program Manager is available during lessons to assist parents and swimmers with general and specific questions.
Our classes are ongoing, allowing swimmers to progress at their own pace. Your instructor will recommend the next swim level when your swimmer is ready. Additionally, you may request a progress report anytime.
There is a $35 annual registration fee, per student, for the first two family members. Your registration fee is payed at the time of registration. Your annual registration fee will be due again at the same time your next year. Registration fees are waived for 3rd+ family members.
Group lessons are $75 per month (Non-Refundable) and are pre-paid by automatic debit on the 1st of every month. Classes are paid for by the calendar month based on an average of 4 to 5 lessons a month. If you are joining after the 1st week of the month, we will prorate that month’s fee based on the number of lessons remaining. If there are less than 4 classes in the month due to a holiday closing, you will not be charged for the closed day. Please call for special needs Private info and pricing.
No, you choose your day/time from our schedule of classes. That day and time is for your swimmer until you decide to take a break, you move to another day/time or your student graduates to another level.
Make-up lessons are a courtesy extended to our swim families and as such, are based on availability and are not guaranteed. We do not guarantee the same teacher or pool for your make-up class. No refunds or credits for missed classes or make-ups. Your monthly payment ensures your child’s spot in their weekly class. Make-ups can only be scheduled up to 7 days in advance of the make-up date. [Advanced notice over the phone or in person is required for Private Lessons to qualify and request a make -up lesson.] Make-ups cannot be booked until the day after you missed the class. Make-ups must be scheduled within 30 days of missed class. It may take 3 or 4 weeks to find a class that fits your schedule. [Private Lesson make-ups maybe accommodated in our group lessons based on swimmer level and class availability.]
For all lessons a written withdrawal form is due by the 20th of the month with their last class being at the end of the paid month. This allows us to put an end date on the class and opens the class for other students.
We are open Monday - Friday 10am to 7pm and Saturday & Sunday 9am to 5pm. Swim lessons may start earlier and may end later than retail business hours.
Nothing offered at this time, everything is lesson based.
We rarely close due to inclement weather. We may pull swimmers out of the water when lightning is very near, but usually we have everyone stay in the swim hallway until it is deemed safe to resume classes. If we do cancel classes, we will have an automated message on our phone system to notify callers of class cancellations, and we will post about it on Facebook. Please call and check before you drive if you are unsure. We will offer makeups for any closure due to inclement weather.
We have 3 indoor heated pools and make every effort for classes to be assigned to the same pool each week. Daily class rolls and assignments are posted on the large white board, just outside of Classroom 1. Stop at the board as you enter to confirm your pool assignment. If you have questions, our retail store staff will be happy to assist you.
All children under the age of 3, or children that are not potty-trained, must wear a fitted, cloth reusable swim diaper while swimming. We offer reusable diapers in our store for purchase if needed. We strictly enforce that all Baby Splash, Shrimps, and Guppies must be wearing a reusable swim diaper. If a Guppy is 3 and potty trained, they still must wear the reusable swim diaper for the Guppy class. However, you may ask the Supervisor to evaluate your 3 year old Guppy and see if they are ready for Barnacles where the reusable swim diaper is optional, provided they are potty trained. Accidents happen, even if your child is fully potty-trained. This is an industry standard and ASA is committed to maintaining the health and safety of all students, parents, and instructors in the water.
All employees have passed through our on going Gold Standard Background Screening Process and are certified in abuse prevention training. ASA provides continious staff training for all staff year round to maintain our high standards for teaching and saftey in our programs.
