We are committed to offering a swim experience to students with special needs. We are not therapists, nor are we specially trained to work with children with special needs. Our swim program has an inclusive philosophy, where children with special needs participate in our regular program to the best of their ability. Considerations are made for each child based on development and skill achievement. There are times when a private one - on - one class is better suited for the swimmer. At such times, we will work with you to find a day and time with availability for your lesson.
We provide back floats, noodles, kickboards, and pool toys for all students during their lesson. Swimmers in Otters, Triggerfish, Sea Lions, Manta Rays, Dolphins and Reef Sharks will need their own swim training fins. Diving fins or recreational fins are not recommended. Stop in our store to have your swimmer fitted for their fins. Please check with your instructor for needed equipment.
Our instructors are all trained in what we like to call "The ASA Way." We have our own curriculum that each instructor follows through the levels, so no matter who you get as your coach, you will surely have a top notch lesson. Each instructor has their own personality, so bonding with a certain coach is normal and we will strive to find the best fit for your child. All classes begin and end promptly at their designated time. We ask that parents and students not interrupt instructors while they are teaching; however, you may leave them a message at the swim counter. Additionally, a Swim Supervisor is available during lessons to assist parents and swimmers with general and specific questions.
There is a $35 annual registration fee, per student, for the first two family members. Your registration fee is payed at the time of registration. Your annual registration fee will be due again at the same time next year. Registration fees are waived for 3rd+ family members.
Group lessons are $20 a class and are pre-paid by the automatic debit on the 1st of every month. (Non-Refundable). If you are joining after the 1st week of the month, we will prorate that month’s fee based on the number of lessons remaining. The total monthly charge per enrollment may vary from $60 to $100 a month. If there is a holiday closing, you will not be charged for the closed day. You are pre-paying to hold the spot and is Non-Refundable.

No, you choose your day/time from our schedule of classes. That day and time is for your swimmer until you decide to take a break, you move to another day/time or your student graduates to another level.
In order to receive a make-up for a missed class, you must give a notice of at least 2 hours before you miss. You are limited to 2 make-ups a month, regardless of how many you missed, or the reason why you missed. This is to ensure your child’s progression as well as to ensure availability in classes. Missed classes are Non-Refundable. It may take 3 or 4 weeks to find a class that fits your schedule. No make-ups, refunds or credits for missed make-up classes. Make-ups are available for up to 60 days from the missed class. After you withdraw from lessons make-ups expire 7 days after your last regularly scheduled class and do not carry over to future enrollment nor transfer to siblings. [Private Lesson make-ups may be accommodated in our group lessons based on swimmer level and class availability.] Make-up lessons are a courtesy extended to our swim families and as such, are based on availability and are not guaranteed. We do not guarantee the same teacher or pool for your make-up class. Your monthly payment ensures your child’s spot in their weekly class.
If you are enrolled in our SwimFIT program, there are no make-ups.
For all swim programs, a written withdrawal form is due by the 20th of the month with their last class being at the end of the paid month. This allows us to put an end date on the class and opens the class for other students.
We are open Monday - Friday 10am to 7:30pm and Saturday & Sunday 9am to 5:30pm. Swim lessons may start earlier and may end later than retail business hours.
We rarely close due to inclement weather. We may pull swimmers out of the water when lightning is very near, but usually we have everyone stay in the swim hallway until it is deemed safe to resume classes. If we do cancel classes, we will have an automated message on our phone system to notify callers of class cancellations, and we will post about it on Facebook. Please call and check before you drive if you are unsure. We will offer makeups for any closure due to inclement weather.
We have 3 indoor heated pools and make every effort for classes to be assigned to the same pool each week. Daily class rolls and assignments are posted on the large TV screen when you enter the building, just outside of Pool1. Stop at the TV as you enter to confirm your pool assignment and area color. If you have questions, our retail store staff will be happy to assist you.
All children under the age of 3, or children that are not potty-trained, must wear a fitted, cloth reusable swim diaper while swimming. We offer reusable diapers in our store for purchase if needed. We strictly enforce that all Baby Splash, Shrimps, and Guppies must be wearing a reusable swim diaper. Accidents happen, even if your child is fully potty-trained. This is an industry standard and ASA is committed to maintaining the health and safety of all students, parents, and instructors in the water.
All employees have passed through our ongoing Gold Standard Background Screening Process and are certified in abuse prevention training. In addition, all ASA employees pass pre-employment drug testing along with being subject to random drug screening at any time. ASA is also aligned with Safe Sport and promotes and trains all employees on current Safe Sport practices. All instructors undergo a minimum of 40 hours of in-water training. Instructors are also trained in First Aid, CPR, and Lifeguarding. ASA provides continuous staff training for all staff year round to maintain our high standards for teaching and safety in our programs.
Our Private lessons are learn-to-swim based for children with focus on basic water skills. These classes are developed with you, for your swimmer. Private lessons are a great way to get specific goals accomplished! We require a Private Lesson Interest form to match your needs with our availability.
